Palencia Wine Company proudly announces the first ever collaboration between professional baseball player Edgar Martinez and Winemaker Victor Palencia. Not only is this project our first magnum, these limited 1.5 Liter bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon celebrate the talents and accomplishments of Edgar Martinez within the world of baseball and his acceptance into the Hall of Fame.

Blend: 100% Pinot Noir

Vineyard Site: Two Gun Vineyard, Ancient Lakes of Columbia Valley AVA, Washington

A delicate pink with copper notes on the edges, the wine has an inviting nose of red fruits, in particular cranberries and raspberries. Underlying everything is a sense of minerality – crushed seashells typical of the Ancient Lakes AVA – and red flowers. On the palate the cranberries fall away and are replaced by a combination of raspberries and candied strawberries. With a good but not overwhelming acid on the backbone this wine is sure to please on its own or with food.

Straw colored with delicate bubbles, the sparkling Albariño opens on the nose with notes of candied green apples, pineapple, and stone fruit. There is a hint of minerality as well which indicates its origin. On the palate the wine is balanced with green apples and a well-balanced acidity. Strongly recommend drinking the wine in a traditional champagne glass rather than flute to experience the full nose.

NEW! Spring Release 2025. Palencia Estate Rosé - 60% Grenache & 40% Mourvedre. 

Winemaker, Victor Palencia's first estate wine is a winner on all fronts with a stunning light ruby color, deliciously complex flavors, and vibrant finishing acidity you’d expect from a sparkling wine. Generous watermelon and raspberry aromatics and flavors are accentuated with a slice of strawberry shortcake and micro-fine bubbles, giving the wine a suggestively creamy middle stanza. The finish is crisp and tangy, with flavors of kumquat, watermelon rind, and blood orange.

Beautiful fragrances of honeysuckle, timothy hay, green pear, and apple blossom start you off, with opening flavors of apricot and Meyer lemon wrapped around a delicious core of Bartlett pear fruit. The off-dry finish displays a splash of vanilla cream, minerality, and a whisper of honeycomb. This is a super-versatile sparkler that should pair nicely with everything from spicy Thai food to fresh oysters on the half-shell.

We are unable to offer menu substitutions. Tickets are non-refundable but fully transferrable.

Purple color with some bronzing edges, this wine shows great color for six years into its existence (reviewed 11/10/2023).  Blackberry with a hint of what beckons to soy sauce land on the nose, and there is a brown sugar element sitting in there as well to round out the experience. The tannins are still very present but softened to shape the overall experience. Flavors of fig and a bit of cola on the mid-palate. 

This Red Mountain Cabernet has distinct full-bodied supple tannins that caress the palate. A burst of fresh field berries and stone fruits greets you on the nose, along with tons of juicy/chewy dried cherry and currant flavors. The amazing finish suggests ultra-dark cherry, black licorice, vanilla bean, and toasted oak. This wine is bold and robust – exactly what you’d expect from a Washington Cab – and, at the same time, flat-out delicious. This elegant cabernet was aged in 100% French oak barrels for 26 months giving it layers of complexity and polished tannins.

Intriguing nose of green herbs, bell pepper, clove, and mint are complemented with subtle flavors of black olive and cassis on the palate. This El Viñador Petit Verdot hails from the Wahluke Slope AVA, with big, bold flavors. Mostly black fruits greet you on the nose and palate, followed by tastes of plum, sage, and lilac. This is a full-bodied wine with high tannins on the finish. This Petit Verdot would pair well with bleu cheese burgers and roasted meats.

While some Petit Verdots may be overly tannic and in need of long-term cellaring, this one carries a voluptuous, silky quality that makes it instantly enjoyable. Gorgeous and amazing aromatics of espresso, sweet tea, Sichuan peppers, and rose petals lead off, with solid flavors of Bing cherry, cassis, and bittersweet chocolate. Sturdy tannins on the finish are highlighted with nuances of roasted hazelnut and green peppercorn. Enjoy now, or stock your cellar for future enjoyment in another five to 10 years.

Blackberries and dark cherries dominate the nose as a cedar element runs in the undercurrent. Victor Palencia’s 10th edition of Casa Amarilla, a blend that has not changed in percentages since its first vintage, the eyes are met with a dark purple color while the nose has hints of plum and cola opening to raspberry and some violets. Gorgeous cherry aromatics and flavors lead off, followed by brighter raspberry, red currant, and ripe pomegranate fruit that result in great finishing acidity. With its dark color and complex structure, this is a beautifully crafted New World-style Grenache from the Yakima Valley AVA. Try it with flank steak and grilled vegetables or, for fun, a BLT with extra-crispy bacon.

Lead-off aromas of cherry and graham cracker set the stage for subtle, beautifully nuanced flavors of chocolate-cherry cordial, strawberry, caramel, and butterscotch. 100% Syrah sourced from Royal Slope AVA & aged in French oak for 14 months. Encased in a dark purple color, the nose has an umami character of balsamic vinegar with black fruits resting in the background, giving way to cherries as the wine continues to open. On the palate you will find blackberries with cocoa with firm but not overpowering tannins. A lengthy finish of what amounts to a dark chocolate and blackberry candy wraps up the experience in what is another great expression of what higher altitude Syrah can do in Washington State.

Winemaker Victor Palencia follows up his Double Gold-winning 2021 vintage with this intensely colored, intensely flavored Syrah from Washington’s Royal Slope AVA. Dark fruit and smoky bacon aromas fill the glass, with ripe, juicy blackberry and black cherry fruit on the palate. The wine is capped with notes of fig and smoked meats along with seamlessly integrated tannins that give it a rich, contemplative finish. Absolutely yummy!

Bursting at the seams with bright fruit flavor, this Palencia Albariño gives a flavor profile of ripe cantaloupe, apricot, and honeydew melon. Following with citrus & lemon zest flavors that are framed with bright minerality that coats and refreshes the palate. After harvest the grapes were fermented separately for 30 days in Hungarian oak puncheons then blended together before bottling.
